Fused silica aspheres with new quality levels and lowest roughness
Jena, November 2020: By reworking the a|FusedSilica aspheres, the optics specialist from Jena presents what is now the world's largest selection of stocked fused silica optics. Optimized for a wide range of applications, as prototypes in test devices or as components for beam focusing, the newly compiled quality levels are particularly suitable for high laser powers. In addition to further diameters, all a|FusedSilica aspheres are now also available with V-Coatings (355 nm, 532 nm and 1064 nm).
With the completely renewed assortment it is possible to choose between three quality levels: Precision (RMSi ≤ 0.5 µm, Wavefront RMS ≤ 235 nm), Ultra (RMSi ≤ 0.3 µm, Wavefront RMS ≤ 140 nm) and BeamTuning (RMSi ≤ 0.02 µm, Wavefront RMS ≤ 10 nm). In addition to new diameter-focal length-combinations, the design wavelength of the aspheres was optimized and adjusted to 355 nm.
"Thanks to the optimized design wavelength and extra-long focal lengths, our new aspheres are particularly suitable for UV applications," says Head of Sales Sebastian Henkel. "These add-ons not only create the world's largest selection of fused silica aspheres for our customers, but also a portfolio of products tailored to their needs. In addition, all optics are available directly from stock and even as mounted lenses. Of course, everything can be ordered quickly and easily online.", Mr. Henkel continues.
Wide range of broadband and V-coatings with short delivery times
In addition to the selection of available diameters, asphericon is also expanding its range of coating solutions. Besides different broadband coatings from 400-1600 nm, all fused silica aspheres are now also available with wavelength specific coatings (V-Coatings) for 355, 532 and 1064 nm.
BeamTuning quality for lowest roughness
Special highlight is the BeamTuning line. Due to their outstanding optical design and the processing by means of the high-end finishing process developed by asphericon, these aspheres work diffraction-limited and have lowest roughness values. This minimizes scattering and allows their use in demanding laser applications (e.g. laser material processing, ultra-short pulse lasers). "The new BeamTuning line can be excellently combined with other BeamTuning products. Beam expansion or beam shaping thus becomes extremely easy: Plug & Play in perfection.", Sebastian Henkel continues. In addition to the BeamTuning quality optics, selected diameters of the other two quality levels (Precision, Ultra) are also available with high-precision mounts directly from stock.
