Jena, October 2026: The 2026 STADTRADELN campaign in Jena came to an official close with an award ceremony honoring the most successful teams and individual cyclists. More than 3,400 participants cycled over 670,000 kilometers, saving an estimated 110 tons of CO₂ emissions. Jena ranked second in Thuringia once again.
Schools and university hospital top the rankings
Once again, two Jena schools topped the team rankings. Otto-Schott-Gymnasium took first place with around 54,000 kilometers, followed by Angergymnasium with approximately 52,000 kilometers. Jena University Hospital came third with nearly 45,000 kilometers.
A new club category was introduced this year, with cash prizes for the winners. Radclub Jena e.V. took first place, ahead of the German Cyclists' Association (ADFC) and the German Life Saving Association (DLRG).
Individual achievements were also recognized for the first time. Sina Truckenbrodt led the rankings with 2,277 kilometers, followed by school students Alexandra Volkmer and Felix Barta, who each cycled more than 2,000 kilometers.
