On September 17th and 18th, the 11th OptoNet Workshop “Ultra Precision Manufacturing of Aspheres and Freeforms” will take place, an event for experts from research and industry. Every two years, experts meet to discuss the latest trends and research results in ultra-precision machining of aspheres and freeform optics. These technologies are central to the optical industry and offer enormous potential for innovative optical system solutions.
The workshop provides an ideal platform for exchanging information on the latest developments in the design, fabrication, testing and replication of optical freeforms. Special emphasis will be placed on advances in ultra-precision machine and metrology. In addition to the technical presentations, attendees can look forward to an accompanying exhibition offering a comprehensive look at the latest technological developments.
In 2024, the focus will be on “Freeform Optics in ground-based astronomy”, “Freeform Optics in Space Applications” as well as “Freeform Systems and Applications” and “Manufacturing and Characterization of Freeform Surfaces”. The goal of the event is to bring together national and international players in the field of ultra-precise manufacturing of high-performance optics and to promote the exchange within the community.
